Bell ringer pealing manually in el Patriarca bellfry in Valencia, Spain


Here, the bell ringer plays 8 of the bells in the belfry in what it's called "repique" (peal). This method of playing has been done since mid XV century. Each clapper is tied to a rope and pulled to make it hit the bell. This particular set of bells are only played one day of the year, that is called vuitava del Corpus
