They knew just what the king wanted, and their failureto do it was an intentional and deliberate refusal to obey most kings this would have been enough to seal their no, says Nebuchadnezzar, I will overlook this offense, ifupon a second trial they comply with the law. But they in-formed the king that he need not trouble himself to repeat thefarce. *We are not careful, said they, to answer thee inthis matter.
