After a heavy rain Mawenzi the 2nd highest mountain of the Kilimanjaro range is covered with fresh snow.
Mawenzi, 5195m, the second highest mountain of the Kilimanjaro range. Much older then Kibo (Kilimanjaro, 5895m)), the cone has been severely eroded, making it a challange even for the experienced climbers. Walking along the Marangu Route or to Mawenzi tarn offers spectacular views of Mawenzi.
