RED SEA (Nov. 21, 2016) Marines with Weapons Platoon, Charlie Company, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) shoot illumination rounds from an M224 60mm mortar system off the flight deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) during a mortar range Nov. 21, 2016. 22nd MEU, deployed with the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, is maintaining regional security in the 5th Fleet area of operations.
