Greig St suspension footbridge Bridge crossing of the River Ness in the Highland Capital of Inverness.
The suspension footbridge crosses the river opposite Church Lane on the town side over to Greig Street on the other side. This is the largest of the footbridges across the Ness and was built in 1881, two years after the Infirmary bridge, very similar in style but larger. This bridge was constructed by the Rose Street Foundry. THE RIVER NESS FLOWS THROUGH CENTRE OF RUNS FROM LOCH NESS TO THE MORAY IS ENJOYED BY YOUNG AND SPORTS CENTRE ROUND THE RIVER FOR INSTANCE CANOEING, ANGLING AND ENJOY WALKING BY THE RIVER AND OFTEN STROLL THROUGH THE ISLANDS TO ENJOY THEIR NATURAL ISLANDS HAVE THREE FOOTBRIDGES LINKING THEM TO THE RIVER ARE FIVE OTHER BRIDGES OVER THE ARE TWO ROAD BRIDGES, TWO FOOTBRIDGES AND ONE RAILWAY BRAHAN SEER,A SEVENTEENTH CENTURY PROPHET,FORETOLD THAT WHEN NINE BRIDGES CROSS THE NESS FIRE AND WATER WOULD RUN THROUGH THE STREETS OF THE NEW BRIDGE OF CONCRETE IS NOW BEING IT'S FINISHED IT WILL BE SEEN WHETHER THE PROPHECY OF THE BRAHAN SEER WILL BE FULFILLED.
