Slough, Berkshire, UK. 28th September, 2022. Following the mini-budget announced last week by the Chancellor, Kwasi Kwarteng, the pound has again tumbled by today against the dollar despite the Bank of England emergency intervention. Interest rates are expected to rise to 6% causing financial pain for many home owners as those on variable rate mortgages will have to pay more each month. Property prices are also now predicted to fall by up to 15%. Credit: Maureen McLean/Alamy Live News
