There are documents that the first name of Tripolis was Apollonia and then it was called Tripolis in the Late Hellenistic Period and that it was first established during the Lydian State. Although Tripolis is among the Lydian Cities, it appears to be one of the important border, trade and agriculture centers that provide access to Phrygia and Caria regions. Although the first establishment of Tripolis was during the Lydian period, the ruins on the surface show the architectural features and building examples of the Roman and Byzantine Periods. Tripolis Ancient City BC. II. century and İ.S. I. century. mid and IV. YY. It was destroyed by many earthquakes and wars in the midst. The city lived its most magnificent period in the Roman period.
