The last physician attending King Edward VI (1537-1553) before his death on the 6th July 1553. He became ill during January 1553 with a fever and cough that gradually worsened. The cause of death is uncertain, consumption (TB) has been suggested, other think he was poisoned by Catholics seeking to bring Mary to the throne.
