Castrop-Rauxel, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany - New construction of a bridge -Jump over the Emscher-, a floating crane on the Rhine-Herne Canal during the floating in of the middle section of a foot and cycle path bridge over the Emscher and the Rhine-Herne Canal. Construction project EMSCHERLAND, a 37 hectare water and nature experience park at the water crossing of the Rhine-Herne Canal (right) and the renaturalized Emscher (from right to left) at the city border of Recklinghausen to Castrop-Rauxel. EMSCHERLAND will also be a future garden of the International Garden Exhibition 2027. Before renaturation, the Emscher river system was an open, above-ground wastewater canal, combined sewer with surface water and wastewater. In the back, the Uniper power plant Datteln 4.
