Martin was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division, he fought on D-Day in Nazi occupied France; In addition to the invasion of Normandy, Martin also parachuted in Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands, and the Battle of the Bulge. At the age of 101 Martin passed away peacefully in his home on September 11, 2022. He was one of the last remaining Airborne "Toccoa Originals" of 1942.
