Directly in charge of this corpsis a force of 24 foremen. The stable equipment is are four stables housing 310 horses,all property of the city. To take care ofthe animals there are at each stable aforeman and three hostlers. The depart-ment also has its own blacksmith shop,wheelwright shop, paint shop and sail-.
