110817-N-ZI300-023 PANAMA CITY (Aug. 17, 2011) The sea and anchor detail aboard the guided-missile frigate USS Thach (FFG 43) man the foc'sle while departing Panama City, Panama. Thach is part of the Pacific Task Force for PANAMAX 2011 and will operate navy ships from Canada, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. PANAMAX focuses on the defense of the Panama Canal, with participants from 17 countries, and involving more than 4,500 personnel throughout the Southern Command.
