Having the shoe fitted, it isnow ready to be nailed on. The nails should be given agood hold in the sound hoof. The heel nail on the front footshould be driven the lowest; the second a little higher ; thethird and the fourth also a little higher than the precedingones, as indicated in Fig\ 62. The shoe being driven on, the next important point is todraw the nails tightly to prevent the clinches from raisingabove the foot and the shoe getting loose.
