Cultivate the same as for Cabbage, but in hoeing be careful not to throw earth into the heart of the plant, or the bulb cannot form. EARLIEST ERFURT. Breton, Sp. One ounce of seed will sow a drill of about 200 feet. The Kales are more hardy than Cabbage, and make excellent greens for winter and are improved by frost. Sow from May to June, and cultivate the same as Cabb spring use sow in September, and protect during winter. DREER'S IMPERIAL LONG STANDING. A beautiful curled and crimped sort, of strong, vigorous habit, perfectly hardy, attractive appear- ance and a bright green color.
