Via Domitia, the Domitian Way, Ambrussum, Herault, Occitania, France
The oldest Roman road in Gaul was contructed in 118BC to link Rome and Cadiz, Spain. Some has been destroyed but this is an excellent section where you can walk to the Oppidum, the Roman settlement, above the river Vidourle in the site of Ambrussum where one bridge arch remains of 11 across the river. Clearly visible here are chariot ruts
