Eddy Merckx Milano 72 Womens Road Bike; Cyclist riding carbon sports road bike on countryside route crossing motorway bridge in rural Lancashire, UK
he Milano 72 takes us back to the hard-fought victory by Eddy Merckx in the 1972 Giro d'Italia. After winning four stages he finished first in Milan to reinforce his supremacy as the top tour rider. Shimano Ultegra Drivetrain Light action Vivid Shifting is just one of many features taken from Shimano’s top end groupsets, making the Ultegra 11 speed 6800 groupset a performance option for the masses. The shifters and derailleurs incorporate Shimano’s Vivid Shift technology, with a light but positive feel all the way through the 11 speed drivetrain, giving you the gear you want, when you want it, with the minimum of effort. With its two piece hollow axle design, the Shimano Hollowtech II chainset is both stiffer and lighter than a square taper chainset. Mounting the large diameter bearings outboard of the bottom bracket shell also provides increased stiffness and bearing life over standard cartridge units. With 52/36 compact gearing, you can tackle even the steepest climbs with confidence. Ultegra Dual pivot brake calipers provide excellent braking power, with angle adjustable pads to ensure perfect pad alignment. A quick release lever aids installation and removal of wheels, for transportation or puncture repairs.
