Illustrated by Thomas Rowlandson (1756-1827) and Auguste Charles Pugin (1762-1832). The Court of Common Pleas was located in the Palace of Westminster. Since medieval times the court dealt with cases of grievance relating to unsettled debts and property matters. It was the principal seat of common law in the country.
