He left a daughter, who mar-ried a perfon of the name of Lloyd : This gentleman furvivedliis lady, and at his death, Mr. Spencers remaining collectionof neglected miniatures, unfinimed performances, together withhis painting materials, were fold by auction by Hutchins, AVells,and Fifcher, in King-ftreet, Co vent-garden, in December the fale there was a three-quarter portrait of Spencer,which was painted by Sir Jofhua Reynolds, foon after hisreturn from Italy. Mr. Walpole, in his fourth volume, fpeaks of this gentle-man, but appears to have known hut Jittle about him, andonly mentions his death, which happened October 30th 1763,at his houfe in Great Marlborough-ftreet, where he had refidedfome years.
