The Charlottenburg palace is the largest palace in was commissioned by Sophie Charlotte, the wife of Friedrich I, Elector of Brandenburg


The original palace was commissioned by Sophie Charlotte, the wife of Friedrich I, Elector of Brandenburg in what was then the village of Lietzow. This palace is sumptuous inside and the gardens are equally beautiful with a large lake and parterres. In the gardens is the Mausoleum with the tombs of the Electors and their consorts
