Eber & Son's catalog of high class garden, field, flower and lawn seeds : bulbs, fertilizers, garden implements, etc. Nursery stock Illinois Quincy Catalogs; Vegetables Seeds Catalogs; Flowers Seeds Catalogs; Bulbs (Plants) Catalogs; Agricultural implements Catalogs. Passion Flower. for rib-. Double Portulacca. Perilla (h h a)—Ornamental leaved; bon gardening and beds. Portulacca—Should be in every garden. There is scarcely any flower in cultivtion that makes such a dazzling display of beauty as a bed of many-hued, highly- colored Moss Flowers. They are in bloom from about thelstof July until killed by the frost in autumn. Plant in open ground after ithas become warm in light sandy soil, and in a dry situ a t i o n. After they appear, with- hold water, and if the bed has a full exposure to the sun, the ground will be covered with the plants, and the effect will be beautiful. Tender annual nine inches high. They will stand any amount of dry weather. The double varieties of this plant are most beautiful. The blossoms are about one and a half inches across, perfectly double and of many colors. Not all the plants will be double, but the single ones can be pulled out. Double Portulacca, per paper, 10c. Bicinus, or Castor Oil Beans (h h a)—Very ornamental and quite tropical in appear- ance, much used for centre plants of flower beds. An entirely new variety is the Zan- zibariansis, which surpasses in size and beauty all varieties hitherto known. The leaves are light green with whitish ribs and measure from two to two and one-half feet across; for large groups or single specimens it is an exceedingly striking and effective ornamental foliage plant.
