Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. January 24th, 2022. The CCGS Hudson enters the Halifax Harbour one last time. The 59-year old research vessel CCGS Hudson, Canadian Coast Guard oldest serving vessel, is set to be decommissioned, according to a statement from the Canadian Coast Guard released last week, deeming it beyond “economical repair” following a catastrophic mechanical failure last fall.
