This pretty young girl looking at the camera was two years old when this was taken in September 2005 at night in an expat home in Kathmandu Nepal A candle had to be used to light the dark room during one of the frequent evening power cuts She is of mixed race with an English father and Pakistani mother and has a beautiful exotic far eastern appearance and big brown eyes A wide aperture was used to give a very shallow depth of field making the shadowy background blurred and out of focus She sits at a wooden table naked except for a nappy or diaper with a warm glow all around The dim low candle light levels result in a soft warm grainy picture with a mystical appeal and magical charm
