EAST CHINA SEA (Feb. 15, 2019) – Sgt. Garnet West, from Warner Robins, Ga., with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) stands by for mail and packages aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) during a replenishment-at-sea (RAS) with the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Walter S. Diehl (T-AO 193). Ashland, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st MEU, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
