Arm bones. Historical anatomical artwork of the bones of the human arm. At left and right, a left- hand arm, hand, and shoulder joint, are seen from the front and rear respectively. A section through a clavicle (collar bone) is at bottom, showing the honeycombed structure inside bones. Two artworks (upper and lower centre) show a right-hand scapula (shoulder blade) from the side (upper) and above (lower). In both cases, the hollow socket is where the ball of the upper arm bone (humerus) fits. The other three artworks are foetal bones (clockwise from top): a clavicle, a scapula and a full arm.
