Crusaders 12th century Catholic Saint Anne Church built where Virgin Mary was born, turned by Salah Al Din into a school given to the French in 1850s


The Church of Saint Anne which marks the place where Virgin Mary's parents house and where she was born, it is located by the ancient Pools of Bethesda near the Lion's Gate in the Muslim Quarter, it was built in 1138, turned into a Muslim school in 1192 and was given to France by the Ottomans in 1856 hence the French flag hanging above, it is a church which belongs to the Catholic White Fathers Order, the Old City of Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Israel.
