Deer near Mission Marsh on the edge of Thunder Bay, Northwestern Ontario, Canada, North America.

In recent years the deer population in and around Thunder Bay has grown as the deer population seems to be moving farther North. Some people believe this is because of global warming and their preferred food sources moving North. Unfortunately this has resulted in some of the preferred moose population moving North as well. While people love the beauty and friendliness of these wild animals they have also become somewhat of an annoyance to gardeners both in the city and country. Deer love to eat many of the garden plants such as hostas and roses, as well as many of the vegetables. Gardeners are trying various methods to keep the gardens and deer separate. so all can enjoy and appreciate this wildlife living among us.
