He diedat Allegan, November 2, 1S54. The vacancy causedby his death was not filled till the end of theterm. CHARLES HENRY PALMER was bornat Lenox, New York, in 1814. He was graduatedBachelor of Arts from Union College in 1837. He. ANDREW PARSONS was born at Hoosick,New York, July 12, 1817. He came to Michiganin 1835 and settled at Ann Arbor, where he taughtschool for a term. He then removed to Corunna,Michigan, where he was County Clerk from 1836 to1838, and County Register of Deeds from 1838 to1846. He was State Senator in 1847 •^d i^ 1852 he was elected Lieutenant-Governor, andon the resignation of Governor McClelland in March,1853, became Governor for the remainder of theterm. He was chosen Regent of the University forthe Seventh Judicial Circuit in 1851, to serve sixyears from January i, following; but on his acces-sion to the Governorship he resigned the office. Onretiring from the Governorship, January i, 1855, hebecame a member of the Lower House of the StateLegislature. He died at Corunna, Michigan, June5. Sss.
