Williams, Harold Edward (, 00), wasborn in Newark, N. J., April 24, 1877; sonof Charles E. and Margaret R. Williams. Hewas draughtsman for the Starr EngineeringCo., New York, 1900-01 ; at the McKees-port mills of the National Tube Co., U. H. E. Williams Steel Corporation, igoi-04; and has sincebeen in the sales department of the companyat the Chicago office. He is a member ofthe Chi Psi fraternity. Williams, Harvey D. (, 85), was bornin Shaftsbury, Vt., February 24, 1864; sonof Lewis and Sarah Sleeper Williams. Hewas draughtsman with the Emery Scale &Testing Machine Co., Stamford, Conn.,1885-86; and designer for the Yale & TowneManufacturing Co., in the same city, 1886-88. During the latter period he designed theportable self-sustaining hoist since known tothe trade as the Triplex Pulley Block,which has an efficiency of 79 per to that time the efficiencies of suchhoists ranged from 20 to 50 per cent.
