Further,the renal stone shadow may assume characteristics verysimilar to those of the gall-stone. In short, the shadowcast in the radiogram by the gall-stone and by the renal stonemay be identical in position and character. The pyelogramis usually the best and frequently the only method by which. The same data previouslydescribed in the identification of the extrarenal shadow areapplicable in the differentiation between gall-stones andrenal stones. In Fig. 194 the shadow in question, althoughsituated in the usual kidney area, is widely separated fromthe outline of the pelvis below.
