The Bureau of Plant Industry has i„ progress investigations in the improvement of cotton, and as a foundation for such work it is neces- sary to determine the varieties best suited to each section of the cotton belt. The distribution of cotton seed is thus arranged with the view of furnishing growers with seed of new varieties to test in comparison.
