WWI, Pederobba,Italy. Stele erected in 1972 in memory of the assault, which took place on the night of October 26, 1918, across a pontoon bridge built by Italian and French engineers. The assault, which ended with the expulsion of the Austrians on the left bank of the Piave river, was the prelude to the Austro-Hungarian capitulation and the victory of Vittorio Veneto.
