The line extends to FortEdward, including the southern portion of the main line and theGreenwich branch. A second division comprises the southernportion of the Saratoga branch, and includes the spur line toSaratoga Lake. The third division includes the northern por-tion of the Saratoga branch and that portion of the main lineextending from Fort Edward to Warrensburg. Cars alternate. These are handled forthe factories along the line, and switching charges are only portion of the system over which regular express busi-ness is conducted is between Greenwich and Schuylerville. Twocars per day are operated over this portion. The reason for thepartial abandonment of this important branch of the businessis the loss sustained by the company in the recent strike, whenthe road was practically tied-up for nearly two months.
