NAVY BOMB DISPOSAL SQUAD. 1940, THE NAVY BOMB DISPOSAL SQUADS DEAL WITH ANY UNEXPLODED BOMBS THAT MAY HAVE FALLEN IN NAVAL ESTABLISHMENTS OR ON NAVAL PROPERTY. THEIR MAIN JOB IS THE EVEN MORE TICKLISH ONE OF TACKLING UNEXPLODED MINES. IF THE LOCALITY PERMITS THEY ARE EXPLODED THEN AND THEIR BY THE SQUAD BUT THIS MAY NOT ALWAYS BE POSSIBLE AND OTHER MEANS MAY HAVE TO BE ADOPTED TO REMOVE THE MINE. THE SERIES SHOW A MINE BEING EXPLODED THAT WAS WASHED UP ON THE MUD FLATS. - Attached to the charge is a cable 800 yards long. Under cover of a bank Lieut West fires the charge by a dynamo charge
