Restored French WW1 trench at Notre Dame de Lorette, Souchez, France


A partly-restored trench on the crest of the hill where the chapel was located, now adjoining a huge French cemetery. A very bloody battle in Oct 1914 – Oct 1915, remnants of both the French and German First and Second Lines are still visible on the battlefield.
