" Spring-sown plants bloom in July and August. They take up very little room, for they may be planted 6 to 8 inches apart the first season The following spring the choicer ones may be planted in permanent quarters in groups of three or more, or in larger groups in the shrubbery border or to the rear of hardy perennials, two or three feet apart. In two or three years they should be taken out, the beds heavily manured, the plants reset and more room given each ; They can also be sown in the open giound in spring, but would not likely flower until the second year.
