Aksum, Axum, Ethiopia, Korean American tourist and the Procession of the Arc of the Covenant, UNESCO,
In Tigray, Northern Ethiopia near the base of the Adway mountains, Aksum is now believed by many to be home to the biblical Arc of the Covenant in which resides the Tablets of Law upon which the Ten Commandments are inscribed. At times throughout the year a replica of the Arc is paraded through town by priests and holy men enveloped by a long procession of pilgrims in white robes carrying beeswax candles. Before returning the Arc to the church the followers circle an enclosure built to temporarily hold the Arc. Chanting, bowing and praying ensue. Aksum plays heavily in some of the theories presented by Author Graham Hancock in his book The Sign and the Seal. asia asian
