This Ural owl, probably a female, was photographed in the morning after it was accidentally flushed from another tree. It was in the breeding season so it is likely that her nest was in the vicinity. Photographed in a Dinaric Abieti-fagetum forest on Menisija (Menišija) plateau in Central Slovenia. This region is known to have one of the highest densities of this species in Europe.
