This is Fever Brook flowing through the Federated Women's Club State Forest in New Salem, Massachusetts. Fever Brook is one of the rivers that flows into the Quabbin Reservoir. The Reservoir is the primary source of drinking water for approximately two million residents of eastern Massachusetts. It was created in the 1930's and 40's. In the process, four towns were taken by imminent domain and several thousand residents were forced off the land. Fever Brook is just north of the Reservoir itself.
