Man}- specimens have a silvery hue. This tree is found growing in great perfection in some localities in northern New England and the dominion of Can- ada. The cones are less than 2 inches long; retaining its lower branches about as long as the Norway Spruce and far better than does the Balsam Fir on dry soil.
