Koilonychia both thumbs

This disorder results in thin, brittle and concave nails. It is linked with anaemia, a lack of the oxygen-carrying pigment haemoglobin in the red blood cells. It is associated with anaemia caused by deficiency in the mineral iron, an essential component of haemoglobin. Its exact cause is unknown, but it subsides if the anaemia is treated.
