Yelling while going through physical training events allows a recruit to develop the strength of their vocal cords to overpower the loudness of combat. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Charlie Company is scheduled to graduate Sept. 1.
