A vermeil plaque of Maria Catharina von Hallwyl, Swiss, dated 1710 Silver, gilt front side. Slightly domed, vertically oval form with a very finely engraved Madonna, over the drapery of her dress the coat of arms of the Hallwyl family, at the upper edge the inscription "Maria Catharina Von Hallweil des Firste Frey Stifft Lindau Capittel Frau". Framing pierced tendrils as well as putti heads. Dimensions circa 82 x 75 mm, weight 44 g. The Hallwyl dynasty is first mentioned in 1167.
