Dried leaves are worthless. 856 A COMPANION TO THE Constituents.—A volatile acid called toxicodendric acid, which ispoisonous, causing severe vesicular eruptions ajid swelling. Medicinal Uses.—Said to be an irritant narcotic, which has provedbeneficial in certain affections of the nervous system, as in paraplegia,paralysis, especially of the rectum or bladder ; also in chronic rheuma-tism, etc. Dose.— to gram (1 to 6 grains). TOXICODEKDKI EXTRACTUM FLUIDUM. Fluid Extract of Toxicodendron.
