Survivor of Alaskan Plane Crash Found by Coast Guard. In a state of exhaustion, after a month in the Alaskan wilderness, Dewey Metzdorf was located by Coast Guardsmen in this improvised camp. In its search for survivors of the crash, the Coast Guard used sea, air, and foot patrols. All six occupants of the plane, two of them dead, were found.
