The lumen (white, top) is lined with a mucosa of stratified squamous epithelial cells (pink) and a lamina propria (blue) containing blood vessels and nerves. The thickness of this mucosal layer changes during the menstrual cycle. Magnification: x100 when printed at 15cm wide.
