Fatuma Anyanzwa, who represents the East Africa Nubian Soldiers laying wreaths during the commemoration ceremony of World War Veterans held at the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery that was opened in 1941 by the military authorities. It contains 1,952 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, 11 of which are unidentified. Nairobi was the headquarters of the East African Force.
