Reaily to embark. Mention has been made of the females only in these im- p(.)rtations. Because a bull has so wide an influence, due to his greater ability to beget descendants, it seems wise to men- tion individually some of the best island bulls that have been brought to this country. Probably the first one that attracted marked attention was the bull Sir Champion 38, imported by Thomas Har\-ey & Son in 1871. He had sons named after him, Sir Champion 2d to Sir Champion 16th, and dozens of other sons, nearly all of which were used in pure-bred herds.
