Bridge in the Golden Valley
This sturdy brick bridge is on the trackway that connects two farms. It probably replaced a ford about 120 years ago. The water course was created some 400 years ago as part of Rowland Vaughan’s scheme to manage the ‘flooding’ of the meadows in the Golden Valley. Today, it is a tributary of the River Dore. The woodland is known as Green’s Wood.
