The new ferry line is called "The Bird Road Line", on the Danish Fugleflugtslinien and on German Vogelfluglinie, as the line follows the migratory birds' flight route. M/S Kong Frederik IX, inserted between Rødby-Puttgarden from 14/5 1963 to autumn 1968 and as an extra ferry between 1968-1996
