Keep the soil mellow and clean. Owin^ to its ti'ailing habit it will be necessary to mulch the ground well, as with the strawberry-, to keep the fruit from becoming soiled and gritty. Lucretia,—Decidedly the best of all dewberries. As early or earlier than "Wilson "s Early blackberry. It is a superb fruit; large and handsome, of a shining jet black, melting and of a delicious qualitj'. The plant is entirely hardy eveiywhere. a healthy, strong grower, LUCRETIA. and exceedingly productive. I can confidently I'ecommend the Lucretia as being a fine aquisition to the family gai'- den and a delightful introduction to the blackberry season. Root cutting plants.
